Jardine’s Lookout
Jardine's Lookout is a prestigious low density residential area located in the mountains above Causeway Bay and Happy Valley.
It is here that you can surround yourself in tranquil environs and view lush green hillsides. The district was named in 1832 after William Jardine, founder of Jardine Matheson Holdings. At the time, a watchman would be stationed at the lookout point to catch the first sightings of trade ships from India and London; important information on the market price of goods would be signaled to the watchmen who would rush the correspondence back to the firm's directors. Jardine's Lookout mainly consists of large houses with garden or terrace space; there are also a few well-established high-rise developments, such as Cavendish Heights, that range from small one to two bedroom units to large 5 bedroom apartments. It is well-served by public transport (bus numbers 11, 41A and 14M) to Causeway Bay and Central. Only A 5 minute bus ride to Causeway Bay.
