Mid-levels West is a prime residential area of Hong Kong Island that extends to the west of Mid-levels Central to the borders of Pok Fu Lam. It is popular with local and expatriates alike due to its convenience and it is generally quieter, less congested and relatively less expensive than Mid-levels Central. The main thoroughfares are Robinson, Conduit, Caine and Bonham Road that carry most of the public transport options to Central or to Pok Fu Lam. The quieter pockets of Mid-levels West include the Mosque area near the Mid-levels Escalator, Kotewall Road and the green cul de sacs of Hatton Path, Po Shan Road and Lyttleton Road. It is a mix of modern high-rises such as The Babington, Savoy Court and Hamilton Court and well established developments such as, 80 Robinson Road. Both of which are highly popular with the expatriate community. The area is well served by bus routes. It takes only 10 minutes to reach the Central Business District. Highlights: -The main campus of the University of Hong Kong is situated in this area. It is worth visiting its colonial-style buildings and the free Museum. –The Morning Trail is a popular hiking route. Start your hike at the end of Conduit Road and stroll up Hatton Road onto the trail directly above the Police Station. A 45 minute walk takes you to The Peak Galleria.
